Path = AMUG CD:Files:Tele:A:AOL Aid 1.2.sit
Size: 6K Date: 7/28/92 Version: 1.2
Description:
AOL Aid 1.2 - AOL Aid is a little INIT that allows you to do other things
on America Online while you are downloading/uploading files. America Online
has always had the capability to download/upload in the background, but it
forces you to do nothing else while you are downloading files anyway. To
get around this, many people have been using a "Send Behind FKEY" or the
like which sends the File Transfer window behind all the other windows
on the screen so you can do other things such as browse messages, etc.

completed downloads list -- just Select All and Delete), put items on hold
(move them so a FlashSession won't get them, then move 'em back when you
want FS to grab them), rename local filenames or change file types and
creators for partial or completed downloads, and more.

will be active for a scheduled FlashSession. AOLWakeUp requires System 7 to

Size: 4K Date: 3/26/93 Version:
Description:
AT&T CCL - The CCL AT&T Paradyne Comsphere 3810 is a hack from the Hayes
SmartModem 2400 so part's of it may be copyright by whoever wrote the
original script. It makes no use of some of the more powerful features of
this modem but apparently ARA does it's own data compression etc, so that
it shouldn't require these. The CCL has only been tested at 14.4kb and 2400
using an internal modem in a powerbook (PowerPort Gold) and a DoveFax
modem, but it should work at other speedMost CCL's are written by the
company that makes the modem, but we needed this one quickly (for ARA using
our Shiva LAN Rover E). Hence this has no warranty and is not approved by
AT&T. (But it should work anyway!).

and Mansion bulletin board systems. A search engine for looking up
acronyms. VERY fast lookup via a binary search tree, and allows you to add

file needs to be sorted after adding an entry, but if there is enough
demand for a faster add, I will work on an increased throughput. System 7
Compatible.

Name = Alice 2.3 Final English.sit
Path = AMUG CD:Files:Tele:A:Alice 2.3 Final English.sit
Size:352K Date: 2/09/94 Version: 2.3 Engli
Description:
Alice 2.3 Final English - Alice is an off-line reader with an outstanding
user-interface. Alice is a message editor for use with messages you can get
from many BBSs. There are two different systems - You can use Alice as a
XRS or QWK offline reader, or you can use it with T2 and F1 as a Fidonet
point. Used as a XRS or QWK reader Alice can "only" read and write
messages. You must transfer the messages with a terminal application. A
point does this automatically by using another type of application called a
mailer to transfer the messages to the BBS. An example of a typical XRS/QWK
use - write some messages with Alice, connect with the mailbox using a
terminal application, upload of message packets much more!!
Name = Alice 2.3 Final Deutsch.sit

Name = Alice/T2/Charon setup.sit
Path = AMUG CD:Files:Tele:A:Alice/T2/Charon setup.sit
Size: 59K Date: 1/26/94 Version:
Description:
Alice/T2/Charon setup - Alice and T2 are shareware programs written by
Michael Keller. Alice started out as an offline .XRS reader. Then .QWK
capability was added to Alice. Now, with the addition of T2 and FidoNet
mailer programs such as Charon, Alice can function as a complete FidoNet
Point system. This guide is a quick and dirty explanation of how you would
configure Alice/T2/Charon to work as a Macintosh FidoNet point system. You
will need to contact your Sysop and receive a point number and password
before you proceed to setup Alice/T2/Charon.

Name = Auto Fade 2.5.sit

Size: 19K Date:12/27/93 Version: 2.0
Description:
Auto Fade 2.5 - Auto Fade is a screen saver designed especially for the
Hermes BBS. It is an external so it actually runs inside of Hermes. It can
be configured to blank the screen, draw lines when no one is online or
display the name, node and current board action of those online. It also
underlines the name of any caller requesting a chat. Auto Fade works under
both Systems 6 and 7 and works with multiple monitors. Auto Fade preceeded
the built-in screen saver and I think it is far superior. It is definitely
more stable than the built-in one. Auto Fade includes both user and sysop
externals. To use it simply drag it into the externals folder and restart
Hermes.

rebooting your machine or shutting down the power on your Macintosh at a
predetermined time. There are several reasons you might want to do this.
The reboot option is good for cleaning up memory that Hermes, Hermes
externals or other programs might have mucked up. Shutting down might
appeal to you if you only run the board for a set period and would like
your computer to turn off after that time. Quitting Hermes might be nice
for a similar reason if you need the memory for something else to run.

Charon 0.985 - Charon is a 'freeware' (beta) fidonet pointmailer featuring
the standard EMSI, YooHoo protocols and fast ZedZap (zmodem) file
transfers. It is designed to be used together with CounterPoint or Alice
(v2.21 upwards), or to serve as a replacement for MacWoof's built-in
mailer. Other message editors should work as well. Some pros of Charon -
Up-to-date connects with DOS-based mailers, using EMSI (multi-address
ability for those who need it) and efficient, reliable ZedZap transfers; no
shareware fee, and extremely simple to install and use. This version fixes
a major bug that caused more powerful Macs to crash, especially after
hitting the Dial button or at the end of a connect. Adds more!

Chat 1.10 - Chat is a background only application that lets Macs with
MacTCP 1.1 serve as a very primitive IRC. Once Chat is running on your mac,
multiple people can Telnet to port 1420 on your mac and have online
discussions. Chat has no macintosh user interface, the only way to use it
is by telneting to your mac. I wrote this to hold the weekly online
meetings of the TopSoft group, which have proved very successful. Chat can
support upwards of 12 users with the current memory partition (200k), and
can support an arbitrarily large number of users given enough memory
(though MacTCP will probably blow up if you try too many). Add about 5 or
10k for each extra users you want. Requires MacTCP and System 6 or 7.

ratio is adequate for your standards, the user is admitted normally. If
not, he or she is given a polite message explaining the situation and is
forwarded to the menu I have included in this package. That menu allows the
user to view files in your new upload section and to upload files (in order
to boost his or her ratio). This replaces a bad upload I made on 12/26/90.

Description:
Downline 1.1.1 - This is the third release of DownLine, a uniquely
different archive utility For those of you have used DownLine before, I
think you'll like some of the new features. For those of you new to
DownLine, prepare to save some time because this is what it (this utility)
is all about. For this release I've added most of the features people have
been asking for and also some of my own. The major ones are that DownLine
can now "go the other way", that is Stuff and Binhex. It can maintain a log
file of its activity, including error messages. There are numerous more
minor additions which are listed later in this document and in the on-line
help.
